Mr. Strain was a native of Philadelphia, Penn, and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Thomnson, and two brothers, James and Joseph Strain, all of Philadelphia. He had been in ill health for some time but seemingly had felt much better recently, retired as usual Saturday evening about 11:30 p.m. Mrs. Strain was awakened suddenly by his deep breathing and in just a few minutes he was gone. Mr. Strain was a veteran of Worth War I, having served two years overseas. Mrs. Strain is librarian and also reporter for the Index, at Pleasant Hill and we extend to her our sincere sympathy in this sad hour. Mr. Strain had many friends in Pleasant Hill, even though he had lived there only a few years.
