H. T. Young and Rev. Monroe Roberts officiated. Interment Middle Creek cemetery. Funeral directed by Dennis-Green funeral home. Surviving are husband, Henry Goins, Florien; five children, three daughters, Mrs. W. S. Goss of Alco, Mrs. Hazel Thompson of Shreveport, Mrs. K. C. Jones of Hornbeck; two sons, Pvt. Herman Goins of Fort Bragg, N. Stockman of Florien officiating. Dennis-Green funeral home in charge. Surviving are wife and five children of Fisher, also father, Lonnie Lewing of Fisher, and several brothers and sisters. **************************************************************** Obituaries: Miss Mildred Nabours, Sabine Parish N-162 Source: Sabine Index, Many, La., Aug 1, 1941 Submitted by: Tammy Larche-Smith tammy@cp-tel.net The Sabine Index - Miss Mildred Nabours 1 Aug 1941 - Miss Mildred Nabours, 22- year-old-daughter of D. W. Nabours and three other youths were injured shortly before midnight Monday when the car in which that were riding overturned several times at a point east of Many on the Fort Jesup highway. Others injured in the wreck were Lloyd Parrott of Alliance, who suffered a broken leg, and Willard and Elva Nabours, son and daughter of W. P. Nabours, Alliance, who were not seriously injured. Miss Mildred Nabours died at Fraser sanitarium a few hours after the accident. Funeral services were held at Beulah Baptist church Wednesday at 10 a.m. by Rev. C. W. Williams, pastor of First Baptist church, Many, assisted by Rev. Ernest Lilly of Converse. Dennis-Green funeral home had charge of arrangements. The pallbearers were Ralph Wright, E. M. Patrick, T. J. Stephens, Osmer McFellins, Paul Nabours and Adolph Vienne. Surviving Miss Nabours are her parents Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Nabours; one sister, Miss Louise Nabours; grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Parrott, and a number of other relatives throughout Sabine parish. **************************************************************** Obituaries: Ellis K. Sibley, 52 years, died in the home of his sister, Mrs. Willie Davis July 28. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. W. Williams in the Bethsadia Baptist church of which Mr. Sibley was a member. Interment was in the Bethsadia cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Mr. Sibley leaves a wife, seven children, a mother; two brothers, F. T. Sibley, Many Rt. 1 and L. R. Sibley, Shreveport; three sisters, Ms. Ed Shufflin, Many Rt. 1, Mrs. Willie Davis with whom he made his home in Many, and Mrs. A. C. Watkins 1 Aug 1941 - Funeral services for Mrs. J. L. Watkins, 52, who died at Fraser sanitarium Tuesday evening, July 29, were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist church, Many, with the Rev. C. W. Williams officiating. Burial was in Many cemetery. Mrs. Watkins is survived by her husband, J. L. Watkins; tow daughter, Mrs. C. L. Massengill of Many and Mrs. A. J. Goolsbee of Lafayette; two grandchildren, John Llyke Messengill an Cynthia Lou Goolsbee; one brother, Tommie Pyland, Jena; two step-sisters, Mrs. Arthur Bryant and Mrs. Bob Lindsey; one step-brother, Walter Cabenhead, all of Haynesville. Mrs. Watkins was a devoted wife and mother and a great lover of flowers. Her many friends knew this and her room while at the hospital, was always filled with lovely blossoms. ****************************************************************
