Massingill funeral home directing. Surviving are parents: Dr. and Mrs. S. C. Cade, Robeline; three sisters, Mrs. U. W. Smith and Miss Marguerite Cade, Robeline; Mrs. Leon Lultrell; Shreveport; two brothers, S. H. Cade, Robeline, Lt. H. A. Cade, U. S. navy overseas. Ensign Cade was killed Thursday night, Aug. 9, in a plane crash over Miami, Fla. He finished high school in 1940 in Benton, was employed by Atlas Oil company, Shreveport, until he joined the navy in 1943. He received his wings July 4, 1945, at Corpus Christi, Texas and was stationed in Florida awaiting overseas assignment. ******************************************************************************* Obituaries: Miss Mary Jane Ritter, Sabine Parish R-360 Source: Sabine Index, Many, La., Aug 24, 1945 Submitted by: Tammy Larche tammy@cp-tel.net Miss Mary Jane Ritter 24 Aug 1945 - Funeral rites for Miss Mary Jane Ritter, age 86 years, were held 3 p.m. last Friday from Little Flock church, Rev. J. P. Fortenberry officiating. Interment was in Little Flock cemetery, Hixon funeral home of DeRidder in charge. Miss Ritter died at the home of her nephew, Acie Langton, last Thursday. She was a native of Sabine parish, resideing at Clare for the past 50 years. ******************************************************************************* Obituaries: E. P. Thompson, age 98 years, passed away at Gandy Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alice T. Sandel. Funeral rites were held at Simmesport Methodist church 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Lastie N. Hoffpauir officiated, Massingill funeral home directing. Surviving are: Mrs. Annie T. Simms, Monroe; J. T. Thompson, Baton Rouge; A. Thompson, New Orleans; Levi Thompson, Waterproof; Virginia T. Conly, Logansport and Mrs. Alice T. Sandel, Gandy. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the Civil War.
