Dewitt Rains, assisted by Rev. J. I. Funderburk. Interment followed under direction Massingill funeral home. Surviving relatives include parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Earls 27 Aug 1948 - Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday for D. W. Earls, age 78, with rites at the graveside in Fenders cemetery by Rev. Crocker of Pineland, Texas. Interment followed under direction Massingill funeral home. Mr. Earls, a life-long resident of Sabine parish, passed away suddenly at his home near Fisher. Charles Raymond Miller, 24, was at Beulah 10 a.m. Tuesday. Last rites were conducted by Rev. Charles S. Miers, pastor First Baptist church, Many. Interment followed under direction of Massingill funeral home. Military honors at the grave were in charge of members of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Sgt. Miller was killed on the island of Luzon in the Philippines Jan. 13, 1945. Surviving relatives include: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Miller, Many, Rt. 1; brothers, Force, James and Billy Ray of Many, Herbert of Jasper, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Ruby Anthony and Miss Gail Miller, both of Many; grandfather, William Murphey.
