Buvens was suddenly and fatally stricken by a heart attack at his home in Many at 9:30 p.m. Monday. Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Catholic church at 9 a.m. Wednesday with Father J. A. Benoit, celebrant of the Mass. Rt. Rev. Monsignor John C. Vandegaer of Natchitoches preached the sermon. Interment followed under direction Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were: Robert B. Jackson, J. Reuel Boone, Harvey Skinner, J. M. Belisle, Ancil DeLatin, S. M. Taylor, A. P. Store, J. M. Jordan. Surviving relatives include the widow, Mrs. W. E. Buvens, Many; son, Louis Buvens, Sulphur; daughters, Miss Alene Buvens, Many, and Mrs. M. M. Tatum, Atlanta, Texas; brothers, Felix and Jim Buvens of Many and Dr. F. A. Buvens, Shreveport; sister, Mrs. C. C. Marr, Mansfield, and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Buvens was a retired rural mail carrier, having served from the Many post office for 29 years.
