Beavers Lawrence Edward Beavers, 57, of Oil City, was killed Saturday night, Oct. 26, in a one car accident on Louisiana Hwy 538. A native of Sabine Parish, he had lived in Oil City for 20 years, and was an oil field worker. He was a veteran of World War II, and a Baptist. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Wellman Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sid Fillingin, pastor of Ferry Lake Baptist Church in Oil City, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Buel D. Bevers of Oil City; two sons, Mike Beavers, and Joe Beavers, both of Oil City; a daughter, Mrs. Pam Tubbs of Oil City; a brother, L. C. Beavers of Many; seven sisters, Mrs. Lillie Duke, Mrs. Ruth Berg, and Mrs. Florence Pruitt, all of Shreveport, Mrs. Lonnie Harris of Elkins, Ark., Mrs. Mary Lou Young of Ruston, Mrs. Martha Stroud of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Joe Bresso of San diego, Calif., and one grandchild.
