Simpson Bush Services for Mrs. Bessie Bush, 70, of Sulphur, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, at the South Sulphur Church of Christ. James Brashier, and Shelton Berryman officiated. Visitation was held from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Burial was in Jerusalem Cemetery, at 4 p.m., under the direction of Hammer Memorial Funeral Home of Sulphur. Mrs. Bush, a native of Many, died Sunday, April 20, 1986, at 7 a.m., in West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She had been a resident of Sulphur for the past 12 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and Christian. She was a member of the South Sulphur Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilmer Bush. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lou (Shirley) Andrepont of Sulphur, and Mrs. Richard (Bonnie) Algire of Santa Fe, New Mexico; one son, Joseph Wayne Bush of Sulphur; three brothers, Hamp, Horace E., and James E. "Mike" Simpson, all of Many; four sisters, Mrs. Beulah Mitchell of DeRidder, Mrs. Lurlene Adams of Alexandria, Mrs. Laura Flenniken, and Mrs. Pinkeye Mitchell, both of Many; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Randy Bush, David Cotton, Jr., Stoney Cotton, Rick Laughlin, Steve White, and Keith Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Anderpont, and Curtis Festervand. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
