Officiating was Rev. Hulen Warren. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Tex., under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Bishop passed away on July 4, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, La. Visitation was from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home, and at Cage Mills Jackson-Lingham Funeral Home on Friday Evening, in Corpus Christi, Tex. Graveside service was at 10 a.m., Saturday morning in Corpus Christi, Tex. Mrs. Bishop was born January 17, 1931, in Pace, Mississippi, to James Edward and Ivy Phillips Powell. Survivors are her husband, Mr. Sidney L. Bishop of Many, and formerly of Corpus Christi, Tex.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. D. Rodney and Karen Bishop of Many, and Mr. Donald C. and Lee Bishop of Houston, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Soloman of Cleveland, Miss., Mrs. Claudia Krutts of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Gladys Turner of Bedford, Tenn.; one brother, M. C. E. "Buddy" of Cleveland, Miss.; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mr. Reggie Johnson, Mr. Noe Garcia, Mr. Frank Brown, Mr. Brad DeCoux, Mr. Leslie Price, and Mr. Mark Heflin.
