All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Lincoln Palmer Boswell Funeral services were held December 27, 1989, for Mr. Lincoln Palmer (Paul) Boswell, who passed away in Houston, at 2:35 p.m., Sunday, December 24, 1989. The service was held in the First Baptist Church, Many, with Reverends Joe H. Ratcliff of Many, Curtis Lee Pace of Birmingham, Alabama, and Milton R. Brown of Quito, Equador officiating. Burial was in Ft. Jesup Cemetery near Many. Military color guard was provided from the Shreveport Naval Reserve Center. Mr. Boswell was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1937 to 1941, serving two years on the USS New Orleans. Mr. Boswell was the son of Grover Cleveland Boswell, and Sarah Alieze Beasley Boswell, and was born at Bellwood. He grew up in Many, and was a member of the high school class of 1932. Following his discharge from the Marines, he resided in Beaufort, South Carolina for several years. Returning to Louisiana, he attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He then joined H. S. Lonergan, Realtor in Shreveport, as a salesman, and worked briefly with Zuzac Realty, before becoming a broker, operating as L. P. Boswell Realty Company, specializing in commercial and industrial real estate. For ten years, he owned and operated Little Lake Trailer Park on Greenwood Rd. in Shreveport. For many years, he and his wife were square dancers with the YW Twirlers Club, and were members of the Huntington Park Golf Club, where Paul was a member of the Hole in One Club. In 1973, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he continued real estate activities. Mr. Boswell is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janette Pace Boswell. Surviving brothers are Voyght of Sonoma, California, Rurel J. of Natchitoches; Truitt of New Orleans, Grover Jr. of Longville, and Kearney of San Diego, California. Sisters surviving him are Dr. Agnes Johnson of Lakeland, Florida, Shawnee Osborne of Longville, and Lois Rigdon of Natchitoches. His Pace family survivors are Gene and Lurline Pace of Mooringsport, Milton and Joyce Pace of Baytown, Texas, Reverend Curtis and Delores Pace of Birmingham, Alabama, Geraldine Mason of Austin, Texas, Patricia and Rev. Milton Brown of Quito, Equador, and Lt. Commander Laura and Colonel Lewis Omer III of Alexandria, Virginia. The Boswells participated in the J. H. Pace Family Reunions the last 15 years, held on Caddo Lake, and Oil City Ferry Lake Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Houston "Over the Hill Gang", which gathered at McDonalds, members of the Many High School Class of 1932, which had held reunions the last two years, and all nieces, great nieces, and great nephews. Active pallbearers were James Boswell of DeQuincy, G. C. Boswell III of Lake Charles, Charles A. Pace of Corpus Christi, Texas, Vincent Pace of Mooringsport, Kelly E. Mason of Houston, Texas, Brad Pace of Austin, Texas, Randy Pace of Houston, Texas, Richard Brown of Toccoa Falls, Georgia, Kevin Pace of Toccoa Falls, Georgia, and Brian Pace of Birmingham, Alabama.
