Mrs. Alvin Bixler

  Mrs. Alvin Vertie Bixler, 65, of Converse, died Tuesday.

  Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, in the Union
Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Rose, and the Rev.
L. S. Gates officiating. Burial was in the Union Springs Cemetery,
under the direction of the Drewett Funeral Home of Mansfield.

  Survivors include two sons, John G. Bixler Jr. of Anchorage,
Alaska, and Robert J. Bixler of Logansport; one daughter, Mrs.
Vertie Mae Corley of Converse; three brothers, Gilbert Fisher of
Henderson, Tex., Jack Fisher of Pelican, and Folly E. Fisher of
Ada, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Linnie Hatcher of Converse, Mrs.
Dovie Bissell of Benson, and Mrs. Mae Hatan of Ruston; and six
grandchildren.
