Mrs. Betty Jean Beason

  Mrs. Betty Jean Beason, 32, of Florien, died in Shreveport,
Feb. 18, after a short illness.

  Funeral services were held in the Shady Grove Baptist Church
Saturday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Johnny Crockett
officiating. Burial was in the Shady grove Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Surviving relatives are her husband, Prentis Beason of Florien;
two sons, Eddie Dean Herpin of Florien, and Richard Ray Beason
of Florien; three daughters, Glenda Sue and Debra Kay Herpin of
Florien, and Janet Lynn Beason of Florien; step-father and mother,
Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Roggins of Nederland, Tex.; maternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Free of Port Arthur; one
brother, Leon Jones of Chicago; six sisters, Mrs. Pauline Skeen
of Port Arthur, Mrs. Shirley Campbell of Shreveport, Mrs. Ebbie
Ann Western of San Angelo, Mrs. Barbara Ann Lewing of Florien,
Mrs. Brenda Fay Wilcox of Nederland, and Mrs. Ruby Lee Hanson of
New Llano, La.
