Funeral services were held Friday, May 21, at 3 p.m., in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, with the Rev. George Ross of the First Methodist Church of New Orleans officiating. Interment was in the Spring Ridge Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Robert Ray Bozeman of Belmont, Dr. James Richard Bozeman of Lafayette, Martha Elizabeth Bozeman of Metairie, and Mary Catherine Bozeman of New York City; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Fred Bozeman, Jack L. Stewart, George Cloud, and her grandsons, Robert Raines, Lloyd Bozeman, and Richard Bozeman. Born August 23, 1899, she was the oldest child of Birdie and Joshua Herrington, and was a graduate of Mary Hardin Baylor College for Women in Belton, Tex. In 1921, she married the Rev. Robert Armstrong Bozeman, and at his death in 1942, she returned to their farm in Sabine Parish near Belmont, where, single handedly, she raised and educated their four children. She taught in the public schools of Sabine Parish from 1940 until her retirement. In the Rev. Ross' tribute to her, he spoke of her great dignity, her warm, generous honest nature, her capacity to enjoy life, and her fighting spirit. He extended condolences from the Bishop of the Methodist Church, and the Board of Elders, and went on to praise her sacrifice and deep devotion to her children, and the legacy of love that she leaves behind her. A memorial service was held for Mrs. Bozeman at the First Methodist Church in Shreveport on Tuesday, June 1, at 3:15 p.m.
