All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Guy Boyd Funeral services for Guy Boyd, father of Bill, of Midland, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, at First Baptist Church of Converse. Interment was in Cassell Cemetery in Converse. Arrangements were under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Boyd was born Dec. 4, 1908, in Converse. He left there at an early age, serving as a Seabee in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Cleola Hamlin in Taylor, Arkansas, on October 19, 1929. Mr. Boyd was a Field Superintendent in the oil fields, in drilling, living mainly in Lovington, New Mexico for 12 years. He moved to Midland in 1963. Mr. Boyd retired in 1984, and moved back to Converse. Survivors include his widow, Cleola Boyd of Converse; one son, Bill Boyd and wife Sharon of Midland, Tex.; two grandchildren, Robert Boyd, and Wendy Boyd Massey and husband Brian, all of Midland; twin great grandsons, Brandon, and Cameron Massey; two brothers, W. I. Boyd, and Troy Boyd, both of Converse; two sisters, Mrs. Vara Robertson of Plain Dealing, and Mrs. Ruthie Mae Whitehurst of Conroe, Tex.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
