The Rev. Bill Stowell, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Edgar Evans of Lakeside Baptist Church in Converse. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park. Mrs. Boyd, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, after a brief illness. She was born in Converse, was a former resident of Shreveport, and for the past six years, resided in Converse. Mrs. Boyd was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Converse, where she taught Sunday School. She was a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Shreveport. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert W. Elliott; and son, Timothy B. Elliott. Survivors include her husband, Troy E. Boyd Sr.; son, Ronald W. Elliott (wife Carol), and their children, Anna, and Emily; and stepchildren, Ed Boyd, Susan Dean, Charles Boyd, Sally Norwood, and their families. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Brooks, and Sue Copeland; two brothers, R. O. Shoalmire, and Charles E. Shoalmire; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her nephews served as pallbearers. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Louisiana.
