All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index Mrs. Hattie Mae Batson - March 3, 1988 Services for Mrs. Hattie Mae Batson, 80, of Shreveport, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield. The Rev. Terrell Giddens, pastor of Carmel Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. James Hoover, pastor of Red River Baptist Church of Benton. Burial was at Belmont Cemetery in Belmont. Mrs. Batson died Wednesday morning Feb. 24, 1988, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Thurmon Richard Savelle of Mansfield, Jimmie T. Savelle of Shreveport and Garland R. Savelle of Midwest City, Okla.; one daughter, Noma M. Jones of Benton; four sisters, Gracie Hammond of Kansas City, Mo., Eula Stokan of McSport, Pa., Jocie Thompson of Independence, Mo., and Willie M. Rhodes of Shreveport; three brothers, Solan Austin of Mansfield, Lewis Austin of Pleasant Hill, and Amos Austin of Shreveport; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
