Stephen Elijah Butler

  Services for Mr. Stephen Elijah Butler, 77, of Natchitoches,
were held at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at the Trinity Baptist
Church in Natchitoches. The Rev. Carroll Marr, and Dr. David
McKenzie officiated. Burial was at Memory Lawn Cemetery. Plans
were under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in
Natchitoches.

  Mr. Butler died Thursday, May 2, 1985, at Schumpert Medical
Center in Shreveport. He was a native of Florien, La., and was a
retired automobile mechanic.

  He is survived by his wife, Lora W. Butler of Natchitoches; one
daughter, Janet McKenzie of Rome, Ga.; one sister, Exie McInnis
of Florien, La.; one grandson, Sean McKenzie; and one
granddaughter, Andrea McKenzie of Rome, Ga.

  Pallbearers were James Burt, Stan Cornish, Dr. Joey Paul, Roy
Brown, Lloyd Ponder, and Jim Davis.
