Blue, 80, of 2823 Hardy St., were conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 11, in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. D. M. Duke, pastor of the Queensborough Church of the Nazarene. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., at the Zion Rest Cemetery near Mansfield. Mr. Blue's grandsons served as pallbearers. A native of Jackson, Miss., he died at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, after a sudden illness. Mr. Blue had lived in Shreveport for the past 14 yrs. A retired sawmill worker, he was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow; a son, Henry Oscar Blue, Mansfield; four daughters, Mrs. Dora Mae Blair, Gonzales, Mrs. Verna McCreary, and Mrs. Ruth Whatley, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Verda McGahen of Bossier City; four brothers, C D. Blue and Ross Blue of Pleasant Hill, Ernest Blue, Orange, Tex., and Herman Blue, Monroe; five sisters, Mrs. J. M. Faires, Blanchard, Mrs. Anna Little, Monroe, Mrs. Pauline Boone, Stonewall, Mrs. Alice Wilson, Vivian, and Mrs. Leona Ryan of Connecticut, 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
