Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Many First Baptist Church with interment following at Many Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Ratcliff and Dr. Ed. Scott officiated. Mrs. Ball was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Many for 48 years, an active member of the order f the Eastern Star and Louisiana Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She was one of the founding partners in Wright Brothers Piggly Wiggly of Many and worked in the business for many years. Survivors include one son Vernice Wright and wife, Sandra of Little Rock, Ark.; three grandchildren, Robin Thurman and husband, Rick of Valrico, Fla., Candy Wright of Baton rouge and Mike Wright and wife, Dawn of Dallas, Texas; two great-grandchildren Heather Thurman and Logan Wright; one step-son; four step-grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by her husband, V. L. Wright and Edwin Ball; and nine brothers and sisters, born in the marriage of Alvia Leach and Archie Tompkins. Pallbearers were Dr. Hollis Bray, Dr. Norman Tompkins, Danny McCormick, Hoyt Tompkins, Victor Tompkins and Tommy Wright. Warren Meadows Many, La.
