Mrs. Medie Ballew

  Mrs. Medie Ballew, 69, of Mitchell, died in the Pleasant Hill
General Hospital, Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1:25 a.m., following an
extended illness.

  Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Amelia Ashing of Mitchell,
and Mrs. Mildred Newman of South Haven, Miss.; four brothers,
Elliott Cooper of Leesville, Charles Cooper Jr. of Pelican, Clint
Cooper of Converse, and O. B. Cooper of Houston, Tex.; two
sisters, Mrs. Ruby Latham of Winnfield, and Mrs. Carl Challis of
Kilgore, Tex.; five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held in the Fellowship Baptist Church,
Monday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Bernard Higgins
officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, under the
direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
