Joe Ratcliff, church pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Tex., on Tuesday, Nov. 10, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home, following graveside services. Pallbearers were Dr. Hollis Bray, Melton Wright Melvin Wright, John Voorhies, W. E. Worsham, Horace Tomkins, Billy Colston, and T. E. Britt. Mr. Ball died at his Trace Street home at 9 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 6. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ethel Tompkins Ball of Many; one son, Thomas Edwin Ball of Pettus, Tex.; one stepson, Vernice C. Wright of Many; three sisters, Lydia V. Freeman of Ramona, Calif., Ruth McKinnon of Torrence, Calif., and Ruby Montgomery of Ventura, Calif.; one brother, Marion Lee Ball of Colton, Calif.; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and two great grandsons. Mr. Ball, a former resident of Porter, Tex., was a member of the Sabine Masonic Lodge No. 411.
