A veteran of WWII, Mr. Bell had lived in Shreveport for 16 years. He had been a carpenter for the past 12 years, and was a native of Pleasant Hill. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Bell, Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Faircloth, Bossier City, and Betty Bell, and Hilda Bell, both of Shreveport; two sons, Reggie Bell, and Rodney Bell, both of Shreveport; his mother, Mrs. Nettie Bell; one sister, Mrs. L. V. Terrell; and one brother, Sam Bell, all of Pleasant Hill; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 25, in Spring Ridge Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill, by the Rev. Jerry Schmucker, pastor of Pinecroft Baptist Church, and the Rev. Lowell Todd, chaplain at VA Hospital. Burial was in Spring Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home of Mansfield. Pallbearers were Glen Green, Ralph Bennett, Travis Tyler, Johnnie Raines Jr., R. W. Bruce, Harold Bruce, Tommy McCullough, and Ralph Jordan.
