Mr. Bell was last seen by his neighbors, the Williams family, between 7 and 8 a.m., Monday. He was walking down the Alliance Road, toward the lake, where he kept his 12 ft. aluminum boat. Brumley said he assumed Bell, who was crippled and used a walking stick, was baiting a trot line, when his boat capsized in a brushy area, about 35 to 40 ft. from the nearest bank. The water there was 10 to 12 ft. deep. The body was found Tuesday, about 1:10 p.m., by John Wayne Miller, who loaded the body into his boat, and brought it to the Sunset Marina. Dr. Warren Founds, deputy coroner, ruled it death by accidental drowning. Mr. Bell's body was picked up by Sabine Ambulance Service, and assisting Brumley in the investigation were Zwolle Marshall Quinton Brandon, and Parish Civil Defense Director Bill White. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m., in the Aimwell Baptist Church, and interment will be in the Aimwell Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. He is survived by one brother, Jessie J. Bell of Tyler, Tex.; two step brothers, Willie Thomas of Many, and Clarence Thomas of Zwolle; one step sister, Mrs. Ida Duncan of Shelbyville, Tex.; and one half sister, Mrs. Lavern Wilburn of Houston; and a number of nieces and nephews.
