William M. Byles

  William M. Byles, 62, of Alexandria, died Saturday afternoon,
Dec. 2, in Rapides General Hospital, following a brief illness.

  Mr. Byles was Eighth District Engineer, with the Louisiana
Department of Transportation, a member of the American society of
Civil Engineers, and a deacon of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

  Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, in the Emmanuel
Baptist Church.

Baptist Church, with the Rev. Schuler Batson officiating. Burial
was in Central Cemetery, at Robeline, under the direction of
Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

  Survivors include his widow, Lorece Byles; two sons, John Byles,
and Jerry Byles, both of Alexandria; and two brothers, Leo Byles,
and Mack Byles, both of Natchitoches.
