Byles, 62, of Alexandria, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 2, in Rapides General Hospital, following a brief illness. Mr. Byles was Eighth District Engineer, with the Louisiana Department of Transportation, a member of the American society of Civil Engineers, and a deacon of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial was in Central Cemetery, at Robeline, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Lorece Byles; two sons, John Byles, and Jerry Byles, both of Alexandria; and two brothers, Leo Byles, and Mack Byles, both of Natchitoches.
