Blackwell, 74, of Many, died on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. Blackwell is survived by three sons, Bert Blackwell, Sulphur; Kenneth Blackwell, Lake Charles; Floyd Blackwell, Ferguson, Missouri; five daughters, Mrs. Claude Keith Moreland, Kansas; Mrs. S. W. Nichols, Many; Mrs. Wayne Polk, Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Glen Cook, Leesville; Mrs. Rodney Walker, Shreveport; two brothers, Walter Blackwell, DeRidder; Buck Blackwell, Many; four sisters, Mrs. John McCormick, Many; Mrs. Ed McCormick, Zwolle; Mrs. B. L. Hardin, and Mrs. John Taylor, both of Shreveport; 19 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 7, at the Calvary Baptist Church, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Wayne Reeves officiating. Burial was in the Fenders Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Joe Luster, Reo Wright, Gerald Malley, Hoyt Hughes, Buddy Dees, Lynn Dean, Greg Booker, and Bobbye Webb. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Wright, George Cook, Bill Leslie, and Lee Jordon.
