All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Bert Blackwell Funeral services were held for Mr. Bert Blackwell, 68, on April 10, 1995, at 2 p.m., at the Lakeside Baptist Church, with burial following in the Lakeside Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Bro. C. V. Chance officiated the services. Mr. Blackwell passed away on April 8, 1995, at the Sabine Medical Center. Mr. Blackwell was born on October 11, 1926, in Many, La., to Edna Self and James Alford Blackwell. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and was owner and operator of Home Building Materials in Sulphur, and True Value Hardware in Many. Mr. Blackwell was survived by his wife, Mrs. Linda Blackwell of Many; five daughters, Robyn Blackwell of Many, Linda Kay Derosier of Elton, Judy Little of Baton Rouge, Glenda Fay Blackwell of Vancouver, Washington, and Darla Lormand of Whitehouse, Texas; two sons, Ricky Blackwell, and Bryin Landry, both of Sulphur; four sisters, Mary Keith of Houston, Margie Cook of Anacoco, Diane Polk of Little Rock, Ark., and Joyce Walker of Shreveport; one brother, Kenneth Blackwell of Lake Charles; 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Leatrice Nichols, and a brother, Floyd Blackwell.
