William Howard Blackwell

  Funeral services for Mr. William Howard Blackwell, 79, of
Florien, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, 1996, at Antioch
Baptist Church in Florien. The Rev. Bill Murphy officiated.
Burial followed in Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of
Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Blackwell, a former member of the Sabine Police Jury, died
Friday, Feb. 23, at St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles.

  Survivors include his wife, Leoda Blackwell of Florien; one
daughter, Peggy Blackwell Stroud of Lake Charles; one sister,
Zelma Anthony of Shreveport; four grandchildren; six great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

  He is preceded in death by one son, Robert F. Blackwell.
