Belisle A 22 year old Fisher man died in a house fire at about 9 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 26. He was identified as Donald L. Belisle. He was in bed in a back room of the house occupied by his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Lofton. Several other children were also in the house at the time of the fire. Young Belisle was apparently trapped, and died from smoke inhalation. The fire apparently started in a utility room, and the house was engulfed in flames when members of the Many Volunteer Fire Department arrived. They had the fire under control in a matter of minutes. The body of young Belisle was found after enough smoke had cleared for firemen to enter the house. The cause of the fire had not been determined, and was still under investigation earlier this week by the State Fire Marshal's Office. The fire gutted the house, and it and the contents were ruled a total loss. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, in the Warren Meadows Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Leamon Manasco officiating. Burial was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Lofton of Fisher; three brothers, George of Hornbeck, and Norman, and Earl, both of Alexandria; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruby Tabor of Many.
