Blackmon Burel Jackson Blackmon, 88, of Many died at Shreveport, Saturday, Jan. 6, at 4:30 p.m., after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 8, at the Enon Primitive Baptist Church, at 2 p.m., with the Elder Herman Blackmon, and Elder J. R. Haymon officiating. Pallbearers were John Rolen, Glen Crutchfield, E. J. Lapeyrouse, Albert Sumler, J. Hugh Berel, and Marvin Byrley. Survivors are four sons, Luther Blackmon of DeRidder, Gilbert Blackmon of Many, J. C. Blackmon of Vidor Tex., and Horace Blackmon of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Medie Sumler of Leesville, Mrs. Myrtle Rolen of Many, Mrs. Hazel Berel of Lafayette, and Mrs Marie Crutchfield of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one half-brother, Benjamin Blackmon of Kirbyville, Tex.; 28 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
