Blackmon Funeral services for Janet Thames Blackmon, 59, of Oil City, were held at 3 p.m., Monday, May 28, at the McGuire Funeral Chapel in Vivian, with the Rev. F. L. Diven, pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Mansfield, officiating, and the Rev. W. E. Yocum, pastor of the Northside Pentecostal Church of Vivian, assisting., Burial followed in the Oil City Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Blackmon died Sunday, May 27, at the LSU Medical Center, after a long illness. She was born in Noble, and had lived in Oil City for 26 years. She is survived by her husband, Coy A. Blackmon of Oil City; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Thames of Spokane, Wash.; a son, Coy Lynn Blackmon of Shawnee, Okla.,; a daughter, Roana Jean Shaw of Bossier City; four brothers; and four sisters. Pallbearers were Leon Darden, Cleve Darden, Daniel Blackmon, Charles Shaw, Randy Diven, and Bruce Squyres.
