"Bill" Bloxom, 70, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 10, 1992, at the First Baptist Church of Converse. Officiating were the Rev. Bob Phillips, and the Rev. Bryant Dean. Burial with Masonic rites, were at Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Mr. Bloxom died Wednesday, July 8, 1992, in Converse, following a brief illness. He was born in Shreveport, and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Bloxom served in the United States Army, and participated in the Normandy Campaign, and the Rhineland Campaign. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, with two Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart, and a Presidential Citation. He was a master mason, a member of the Mitchell Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and a member of the VFW, and the American Legion. He was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church near Converse. He is survived by his wife, Erble Bloxom; three sons, Douglas Bloxom, James Bloxom, and Woodrow Bloxom; one step daughter, Becky Cooper; seven grandchildren; and four step grandchildren. Pallbearers were members of the Mitchell Masonic Lodge.
