Denzil Ray Bolton, 66, of Provencal, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at his residence. Rev. Bolton was a native of Provencal, and was a licensed ordained minister for United Pentecostal Church International. He pastored churches in Illinois, Montana, Louisiana, and was a foreign Missionary to Liberia, and West Africa. He attended Bible Institute Apostolic in St. Paul, Minn. Rev. Boston was a surgery technician, and worked for the Natchitoches Parish Hospital Home Health. Services were held Saturday, July 28, at Provencal United Pentecostal Church in Provencal. The Revs. James Whitehead, Daniel Livingston, Gordon Simmons, Roy McDonald, and Dr. John S. David officiated. Burial followed in Shady Grove Cemetery at Bellwood, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Rev. Bolton is preceded in death by a daughter, Marshelle Dotson; and a brother, John Bolton. Survivors include his widow, Evelyn C. Bolton of Provencal; two sons, Brian Bolton of Provencal, and John Paul Bolton of Hardin, Mont.; son-in-law, Steve Dotson of Marshall, Texas; two sisters, Etty Marie Simmons of Noble, and Ina McDonald of Natchitoches. He is also survived by one brother, Elton Bolton of Provencal; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christine, Corinne, Nikole, Todd, and Austin; and two great grandchildren, Brent Lee, and J. C. Pallbearers were Walton Bolton, Keith McDonald, Kelvin Bolton, Ivan Bolton, Darrell Simmons, and Nathan Simmons. Honorary pallbearers were David Brian, and Chris Grusky.
