All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Kirby Smith Blankenship Services for Mr. Kirby Smith Blankenship, 94, of Pleasant Hill, were held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 25, at the Spring Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Duncan officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery near Marthaville, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Mr. Blankenship died Saturday, February 23, at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Pleasant Hill, where he resided all of his life. He was a farmer, and pipe fitter, and was a member of the Progress Presbyterian Church, and the American Legion Post No. 300, in Pleasant Hill. He was a Mason. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Norma Jean Brown of Shreveport, Mrs. Mary Ellen Cook of Pleasant Hill; one brother, Clyde Blankenship of Pleasant Hill; one grandchild; and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were Hammond Blankenship, Ted Blankenship, Coy Blankenship, Guffie Patterson, Edmond James, and L. A. Brown.
