Mr. Melton Wayne Blankenship (Photo)

  Mr. Melton Wayne Blankenship, 58, died Wednesday, April 25,
2001, at Cabrini Hospital. He was a resident of Dry Prong.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 27, at
Progress Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with interment following
at Progress Cemetery. The Rev. Van Westbury officiated.

  Survivors include three sisters, Ada Sexton of Pineville,
LaJuana Petre of Dry Prong, and Patricia Minton of Alexandria;
nieces and nephews, Debbie Nichols, Sammy Blankenship, Kenneth
Blankenship, Pam Grist, Stacy Blankenship, Natalie Petre, Angela
Bass, Barry Minton Jr., Kim Sexton, Sheila Adkinson, Odeltha
McKinzie, and Terry Blankenship; and a host of friends.

  Pallbearers were Mark Adkinson, Earnest Blankenship, Kenneth
Blankenship, Terry Blankenship, Phillip Bordelon, Curtis Ray
Craig, Fredrick Craig, and Guffey Lynn Pattison.

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Progress Cumberland
Presbyterian Church, 398 Gewin Lane, Pleasant Hill, 71065.
