Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, at First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, with interment following at Springridge Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Thibeau officiated. Mrs. Blankenship was a resident of Pasadena from 1949 to 1979. She will be remembered for the spectacular floral work she created, and the lovely weddings she catered while she owned Blankenship Flowers. She was born March 27, 1925, in Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Blankenship will always be remembered by a host of loving relatives and friends. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Dudley "Ted" Blankenship of Pleasant Hill; her mother, Ethel Rivers of Pleasant Hill; three sons, David Blankenship and wife Dorothy, Spring, Texas, Randall Blankenship and wife Sonia of Houston, Texas, and Dennis Blankenship of Pleasant Hill; one daughter, Donna Jean Mowad of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one brother, W. A. Gaddis and wife Bobbie Jean of Pasadena, Texas; six grandchildren, Dina Vinson, Darla El-Khazen, Sharmin Moss, Patrick Blankenship, Scott Blankenship, and Bonnie Zachary; two step grandsons, Scott Siggins, and Mike Siggins; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
