The Rev. Guy Murphrey officiated. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery near Grand Cane. Mr. Blunt, a native and lifelong resident of Grand Cane, died at 7:30 a.m., Friday, October 28, 1983, at DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield, after a lengthy illness. Before his retirement, Mr. Blunt owned and operated the Blunt Sawmill for 30 years. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Blunt of Grand Cane; four sons, L. C. "Bubba" Blunt, and Johnny Blunt of Grand Cane, Jimmie Blunt of Edmond, Okla., Jerry Blunt of Shreveport, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Scruggs of Joaquin, Texas, Mrs. Linda Lasher of Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Debra Bing of Converse, La.; one sister, Mrs. Izora Brashier of Grand Cane; and twelve grandchildren.
