Thomas Behan 7 Jun 1940 - On Monday, May 20 at 8:30 p.m. God came and took from our presence Rev. Thomas W. Behan. He was 63 years old. Bro. Behan came from Mississippi to this country, married Miss Lottie Sparks and to this union were born four children, three surviving. Mrs. Behan died April 17, 1936. He leaves one brother, Frank. Bro. Behan united with the Prewitt's Chapel church and was ordained to preach November 20, 1909 while Rev. J. D. Wilson was pastor. He was ordained to preach the gospel May 15, 1910 by the following council: J. D. Wilson, pastor; M. N. Jett, clerk; Rev. Coman Pruitt, Rev. H. A. Martin and Deacon H. B. Brown. He has done pastoral work both in Sabine and Vernon associations. He had been in ill health several years and had to give up his pastoral work. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him, which were many. Our prayer goes out for his children, loved ones and friends. May God's will be done and all of us prepare for the hour when God calls us.
