The Sabine Index - L. J. Bennett 
  
  2 Jul 1948 - Funeral services for L. J. Bennett, age 78 years, 
who died at Allen sanitarium, Converse, 2:40 a.m. Saturday, June 
26, were held 2 p.m. Sunday from Wallace Baptist church with Rev. 
S. M. Mulkey, pastor Zwolle Baptist church, Many. 
  
  Surviving are three sons, Emmett Bennett, Vivian, D. N. Bennett, 
Mansfield, Jim Bennett, Mitchell, Jim Bennett, Mitchell; two 
daughters, Mrs. T. M. Permenter, Zwolle and Mrs. Clarence Cooper, 
Many, and 10 grandchildren. 
  
  Interment was in Wallace cemetery under direction Drewett 
funeral home, Mansfield. Masonic rites were held at the grave by 
members of Pleasant Hill Masonic lodge, led by Rev. Pratt McCloud 
of Leesville. 
  
  Pallbearers were Marcell Woods, T. B. Haskins, Dudley Ballard, 
J. S. Lord and Victor Chase, all of Pleasant Hill; John Barron 
and Truman Ramsey, both of Pelican, and C. G. Bullard, Zwolle.
