The Revs. Michael E. McConnoughey, F. L. Diven, Jerry George, and Garthel Burr officiated. Burial was in the Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield. Mrs. Bennett died Feb. 25, 1997, at Schumpert Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lanson Bennett; five brothers, Arthur, Huey, Garthel, Guy T., and Dewey Burr; four sisters, Inez, Ruby, Trudie, and Ruth. She is survived by one son, Johnny Bennett (wife Patti) of Rockwall, Texas; three sisters, Thelma Phillips (husband George) of Shreveport, Lovella Iles (husband David) of Oil City, and Marie Antee (husband Willard) of Florien; three brothers, Rev. Garthel Burr (wife Natalie) of Mansfield, Walter Burr (wife Christine) of Hemphill, Texas, and Medford Burr (wife Sue) of Zwolle; three grandchildren, Chanel Bennett of Carrollton, Texas, Johnny Bennett Jr., and Derik Bennett of Rockwall, Texas; one great granddaughter, Lexis Bennett of Rockwall, Texas; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
