(Hattie) Bennett of Longview, Texas, died Saturday, Oct. 3, at a local hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Memory Park Cemetery. Dr. Solan Gentry, and the Rev. DeWayne Beaty officiated. Mrs. Bennett was born April 18, 1907, in Florien, and had been a resident of Longview, Texas since 1930. She was a homemaker, and a retired secretary at the First National Bank of Longview, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Longview, the Longview Garden Club, and the Aaron Burleson Chapter of the DAR. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett owned the E. K. Bennett Company in Longview, Texas. Survivors include three nieces, Kay Cunningham of Longview, Texas, Louise Troth of Tyler, Texas, and Ann and husband John Walker of Longview; two nephews, Ed and wife Betty Sue Bennett of Holly Lake Ranch, and Jack and wife Sherry Carlton of Longview, Texas; grand nieces and nephews, Lorrie and Mike Ford of Longview, Texas, Lesle and Tony Thompson of Rusk, Capt. Bennett and Joanie Browning of Honolulu, Hawaii, Eric and Jackie Sailor of Texarkana, Chris and Joy Carton of Haughton, David Carlton of Charleston, S. C., Sharon and Daryl Boles of Longview, Texas, Katryn and Cran Endsley of Nacogdoches, Texas, John David Walker of Longview, Texas, and Steven Walker of College Station, Texas; several great-great nieces and nephews; and companion, Allan V. McCray of Longview, Texas. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. E. K. Bennett in 1985. LeRoy Rader Funeral Home, Longview, Texas.
