Giles Boyer - June 2, 1988 The Rev. Father Giles Boyer, 60, pastor of St. Ann's Church, Ebarb, La. died Sunday morning, May 29, 1988 after a lengthy illness. Father Boyer was born on June 10, 1928, in Montreal, Canada and ordained to the Catholic Priesthood Nov. 1, 1954, by Bishop Charles P. Green, for service in the Diocese of Alexandria. Father Boyer served in parishes in Alexandria, Hessmer, Brouillette, Pelican, Vivian and Tallulah, his last assignment as pastor of St. Ann's in Ebarb and St. Catherine in Noble for the past 12 years. A concelebrated mass of Christian burial was held at St. Ann's Church, Ebarb, on Wednesday, June 1, 1988, 11 a.m. with Monsignor Walter E. Walsh, Vicar General of the Diocese of Shreveport presiding. Burial took place in Montreal, Canada. Father Boyer is survived by three sisters, Madeleine, Margie and Carman, and three brothers, Claude, Jacque and John Mark; as well as nephews and nieces, all in Canada. Memorials may be made to the Priest's Retirement Fund of the Diocese of Shreveport.
