  Mrs. Ruth Vandiver Burr

  Services for Mrs. Ruth Vandiver Burr, 68 of Mansfield, were held
at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15 at Rose Neath's Mansfield Chapel.
Officiating was Brother Cecil Laurence. Burial was in the Lee
Cemetery.

  Mrs. Burr died Tuesday, July 12, 1988 at DeSoto General Hospital
after a lengthy illness. She was a homemaker and a charter member
of 28 years of Community Missionary Baptist Church where she was
a Sunday school teacher.

  She is survived by her husband, Brother Garthel Burr of
Mansfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Clomar and Viola Burr,
Sr. of Mansfield; one daughter, Nona Ruth Kennedy and her husband
Floyd of Mansfield; two sisters, Stella Summerlin of Mansfield
and Carmel Hutstefler of Port Neches, Tx.; one brother, Robert C.
Vandiver of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Clomar and Sheila
Burr, Jr. Of Converse, Wayne and Dee Burr of Mansfield; Terry and
Jennifer Kennedy of Mansfield; Pansy Kennedy of Mansfield, Jason
Burr of Mansfield; two great grandchildren, Catilya Burr of
Converse and Crystal Burr of Mansfield.
