All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Dewey Burr Funeral services for Mr. Dewey Burr, 60, of Many, were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, 1996, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield. The Rev. Ray Dyess, pastor of First Baptist Church of Marthaville, and Rev. Michael McConnaughey, pastor of First United Pentecostal Church of Mansfield, officiated. The Rev. Glenn Howard, pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church, assisted. Mr. Burr died Feb. 7, at the V. A. Hospital in Shreveport, after a short illness. Mr. Burr was preceded in death by two sons, Tony Paul Burr, and Dewey Edward Burr; four brothers, Arthur, Gathel, Huey, and Burton Burr; and three sisters, Ruby Brown, Inez Scott, and Trudy Rogers. Survivors include his wife, Edna Burr of Many; two sons, Calvin McKerley of Natchitoches, and Loran McKerley of Shreveport; two daughters, Rhonda Allemond (husband Rick) of Lafayette, and Page Knotts (husband Joe) of Tunnelton, W. Va.; four sisters, Ruth George (husband M. G. Sr.) of Shreveport, Lovella Iles (husband David) of Oil City, Thelma Phillips (husband George) of Shreveport, Gertrude Bennett of Mansfield, and Marie Antee (husband Willard) of Florien. He is also survived by three brothers, Garthel Burr (wife Natalee) of Mansfield, Medford Burr (wife Sue) of Zwolle, and Walter Burr (wife Christine) of Hemphill, Texas; his mother-in-law, Nell Scroggin of Vernon, Texas; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were David Mayes, Ernest Richard, Donnie Hull, Harold Scott, M. G. George, and Roger Ford Jr.
