Van Dewayne Berry

  Funeral services for Mr. Van Dewayne Berry, 59, of Converse,
were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 1996, at San Patricio
Baptist Church.

  Rev. Bob Hannigan, and Rev. Jimmy Price officiated. Burial was
in Cassel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral
Home.

  Mr. Berry died on April 12.

  Mr. Berry was born in Sabine Parish on September 9, 1936, to
Evie Fisher Berry and Tom Berry. He was preceded in death by his
parents; five sisters; one brother; a stepson, Jeffery Myers; and
a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Ford.

  Survivors are his wife, Joyce M. Berry of Converse; one son,
Kenneth Berry of Converse; one daughter, Cindy Ford of Converse;
two sisters, Vera Bennett of Robeline, and Dorothy Blue of
Shreveport; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

  Pallbearers were H. C. Ford, Shane Cummings, Gary Kirby, Michael
Myers, Herman Cummings Jr., Charlie Solley, Tim Leone, and Rodney
Remedies.

  Honorary pallbearers were Don Springer, Marvin Grantham, Don
Fryon, Rodney Golden, and Cleveland Springer.
