All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Lawrence "Larry" Barbo, Jr. Graveside services, with full military honors, for Mr. Lawrence "Larry" Barbo Jr., 58, were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. The Rev. Richard J. Lombard officiated. Mr. Barbo died Saturday, Feb. 22, in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Clarence, and had been a resident of Shreveport since 1971. Mr. Barbo was a retired business representative for the Louisiana Department of Labor. He was Catholic, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a Diplomat of the Bossier City Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Barbo served his country proudly in the United States Navy, and retired in 1981, with the rank of Radioman Senior Chief. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rita C. Barbo of Shreveport; two sons, Larry Anthony Barbo, and his wife, Patti of Exit Junction, Vt., Matthew I. Barbo of Shreveport; one daughter, Lori Shelton of Shreveport; four grandchildren, Larry W. Barbo, Peter N. Barbo, Nicole Barbo, and Richard P. Barbo, all of Exit Junction, Vt.; two sisters, Mavis McDowell and her husband Marvin of Port Arthur, Texas, Elsarae Sandel and her husband John of Florien; and a host of other relatives and friends.
