The Sabine Index - Martin S. Briggs

  20 May 1949 - Martin S. Briggs, 82, passed away at his home
in Mt. Carmel community at 8 a.m. Thursday of last week. Funeral
rites were conducted at 3 p.m. May 12 at Corleyville Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Elder Fred Wagley. Interment
was in Mt. Carmel cemetery under direction Massingill funeral
home.

  Surviving relatives include: widow, Mrs. Alda Briggs, Florien;
daughters, Mrs. Lillian Cummingham, Vidor, Texas, Mrs. H. S.
Sneed, Many, Mrs. Nellie Miles, New York, Mrs. Vivian Moss,
Orange, Texas, Mrs. Annie Brown, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Dessie Moss,
Vidor, Texas; Mrs. Ruby Grisom, Bridge City, Texas; sons, Willie
Briggs, Port Arthur, Julian, Charley, George and Woodrow Briggs,
Vidor, Texas; brothers, Mike, George and Charley Briggs; sister,
Mrs. Ella Watson, 32 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
