Brooks, 82, of Shreveport, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 9, 1982, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel. Gussie Lambert, Elder of Sunset Church of Christ, and Horace Hampton, retired Church of Christ Minister, will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Park West. He died at 9:35 p.m., Monday, December 6, 1982, at P and S Hospital in Shreveport, after a long illness. Mr. Brooks, native of Serviere Co., Tex., retired trouble shooter with Arkla Gas after 37 years, was a member of Central Church of Christ. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his son, C. T. Brooks. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Exie I. G. Brooks, Shreveport; three sons, J. D. Brooks, L. G. Brooks, and Otis Brooks, all of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Young, Many, Mrs. Marjorie Whitley, Stonewall, Mrs. Peggy Harmon, Gatesberry, Conn.; one brother, Jessie Brooks, Hope, Ark.; 24 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be L. D. Weaver, R. L. Ritchie, C. G. McCary, W. D. McDearmont, R. H. Peek, and R. C. Stuckmeyer.
