(Olive) Brooks, 68, of Winnfield, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, at the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, where she was a member. Dr. Calvin Phelps officiated. Interment was at Garden of Memories of Winnfield, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Brooks was a native of Jackson Parish, and a resident of Winnfield. She was a member of the Winnfield Garden Club. She died at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1985. She is survived by her husband, Mr. J. C. Brooks, Jr. of Winnfield; three sons, Jimmy D. Brooks of Shreveport, Donald G. Brooks (formerly of Many), of Natchitoches, and Richard L. Brooks of Dallas, Texas; mother, Mrs. Bessie Barnard of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Rupert (Mell) Campbell of Shreveport, Mrs. Barney Davitt of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Elaine Neely of Shreveport; and seven grandchildren.
