  Julian Briggs - October 18, 1973

  Julian Briggs, 64, of Many, died on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m.
after an extended illness.

  Briggs is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Briggs of Many; 2
daughters, Mrs. Juanita Cole, Many; Mrs. Clarice Dowden of Port
Arthur, Tex.; 2 brothers, Charlie and Woodrow Briggs, both of
Vidor, Tex.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Annie Brown of Sulphur Springs,
Tex.; Mrs. Vivian Moss of Orange, Tex.; and Mrs. Ruby Grissom of
Deweyville, Tex.; and 2 grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. at the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Glen Hardy
and Rev. Bill Sirmon officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen R. Dowden, Glen Edward Dowden,
Tommy Joe Cox, Billy Ray Skinner, Ellis Pentecost and Billy
Dowden.
