Brooks Jr., 74, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 1990, in the Chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield. Officiating was Dr. Calvin Phelps. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories in Winnfield. Mr. Brooks passed away at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, at the Humana Hospital in Winnfield. He was a native of Winnfield, and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Brooks was owner of Brooks Enterprises Inc., Brooks Pontiac, and Brooks Timber Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Barnard Brooks of Winnfield; and one son, Jimmy D. Brooks of Orange Park, Florida. He is survived by two sons, Donald G. Brooks Sr. of Natchitoches, formerly of Many, and Richard L. Brooks of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Lucille B. Taylor of West Monroe, and seven grandchildren.
