Mrs. Alda E. Briggs

  Funeral services were held Sept. 1, for Mrs. Alda E. Briggs, 87,
who died Friday, after a lengthy illness.

  The services were held at 2:30 p.m., at the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints, with the Elder Alvin Torres, and the
Elder John Elbert Tucker officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel
Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home.

  Survivors include four sons, Willie T. of Port Arthur, Texas,
Julian of Many, Carlton, and Charlie Briggs of Vidor, Texas; five
daughters, Mrs. Lillian Cunningham of Vidor, Mrs. Cecil Sneed of
Port Arthur, Mrs. Vivian Moss of Orange, Mrs. Annie Brown of
Dallas, and Mrs. Ruby Mae Grisson of Nederland, Texas; one half
sister, Mrs. Ruby Gray of Beaumont, Texas; 36 grandchildren; 59
great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
